She gave a small nod, somewhat thrown off by his mild compliment - he was impressed by her reflexes. But someone who relied on mostly their body to fight rather than ninjutsu, she had no choice but to be fast. Namiko was taken aback by the man's nonchalant, smooth voice. He wasn't condescending or ridiculously chauvinistic. He was.. calm. Tranquil and kind. She didn't trust that, though; for all she knew, it was nothing more than a facade. It was one of the first things she learned as a ninja. Don't trust just anyone. It's easy to be taken advantage of when you unknowingly put all your trust and fate in someone who could be lying. A pregnant pause had filled the air along with the mist, but Nami's hazel eyes were adjusted to the thick mist of the little slum - after all, this was her home. She had been here for six years. She knew all about it; it was her ground.

Honey-lacquered hazel orbs raised up as the man's silky smooth voice called out through the mist and the Genin came spiraling back to reality, paying attention. He introduced himself. Tashiro Yuki. So her assumption was right; he was from the Yuki Clan. He was a Tokujou Jounin... interesting. She hadn't met many like him; those who were specialized in a certain craft and opted for that instead of a regular Jounin position. Swiftly, the man had flipped in the air and landed on his feet facing her. By now, Nami had shifted her position and slipped her shinobi sandals off, oblivious to the feeling of bare feet on cold, damp grass. She liked going barefoot. It felt more natural to her as a Taijutsu user. Her eyes caught glimpse of the man unsheathing his sword and by now, Nami had stepped closer towards the trunk of the tree. She was aware that he would most likely not harm her as he was a Kirigakure shinobi (or so he claimed) - but she didn't completely let down her guard. She was ready to strike if he dared to do anything suspicious.

Then he spoke again. She grunted at being called a "little one" - at nearly five feet, seven inches and only fourteen, she was far from "little". Nami wasn't fond of being doted on, especially by men. "Namiko Li." she spoke quietly but sternly, her legs stretched out in front of her.

OOC: You guys need to make these topics man, I'm about to start juggling a full-time job and college soon xD 'Tis all good though!!

So, the plan was to reach the closest harbor town which was a good distance away from Kirigakure.. roughly ten miles in total. It was a good walk, but for ninja it wasn't that all physically draining compared to the civilians who might take the same distance from the village to their previous location. Either way, it was a good walk for them. Most of the time was quiet, the occasional conversations and taking the needed breaks to get themselves food, water and sometimes a breather or two.

"Seems we're getting close...." he stated out loud, looking towards the shore-line in the distance with a few docks and a market-town that was bustling with people. The lights were shining bright, whilst the moonlight lit the dirt path towards to the town. They had roughly fifteen more minutes until reaching the town, and then they'd be on their way. "So, who's handling the...boat situation?" he asked, mostly regarding to his sensei. The Uchiha has never traveled before, let alone bought a boat or a rental to be exact. This was plenty of new experiences for him, but a B-rank mission was an excellent opportunity to prepare him.

As they reached the set location, finally they were able to start they journey. The Uchiha let his sensei wisp through the ally's, streets and other directions to get to their primary destination; Rentals. Finally, they had gottten there! His question for what they were going to do about the boat was self-explanitory at this point.

"Whew...here we go...." he though to himself. All of them getting into the boat, and drifting off to sea.

The walk towards the harbor was much like Kenept though it would be. The group had spent most of the trek in silence, other than the occasional short conversation. They stopped a couple of times, to gain bearings, or catch their breath: the reason was really kinda disclosed, but they stopped nonetheless. It was a pleasant day out; not too cold, not to hot, no clouds in the sky. Most of the walk Kenept kept his hands behind his head, and his nose pointed high, as he watched the birds fly through the air. It made him think of Tsubasa, and how free he felt when his wings were unbound; which was quite rare, unless he needed to dodge, or some sort of combat maneuver.

The group had continued on at a good pace, they weren't at full speed because they really didn't need to rush things. And they weren't lollygagging around because they needed to get things done. It gave time for Kenept to think. What exactly were they going to do in Kumo. What would Kumo be like, was it as bad as Kiri? Or worse? What if there were samurai still there, and they were walking into the new samurai city? Or what if Kumo was just angry and the group was attacked when they walked in? There were so many possible outcomes that it was a little intimidating.

"Seems we're getting close... So, who's handling the... boat situation?" Came from Zewo's direction a little before they were to reach the town. Kenept gave Marcus a quick glance, while remaining quiet. He had been on a boat before, but they had had tickets for that. That time it had been a ferry crossing the sea, instead of a rental row boat. After all, they were just Genin. At this stage, the sensei should be making the arrangements.

-> enter Yui ->

The group grew closer to the docks. "Atleast these seem relatively untouched." thought the young girl in relief. It was painful to see their village in such disarray, though most of it appeared reconstructed by now. The samurai seemed to concentrate their assault on the actual city of the village itself. However, the possibility that the samurai targeted Kumogakure in their quest against shinobi seemed high. Their opposition didn't seem to specify a Kiri-specific hate, but a hate for all ninja. It would be a shame to leave one coordinate of debris just to arrive at another. In the hope of finding adventure rather than destruction, Yui pressed on with the group, using traveling movements you'd expect from a Naruto-verse ninja. They reached their destination of traverse.

Zewo made a comment that made the group of Genins pause that made Yui smile. She valued how upfront the lad was about not knowing exactly how to proceed. As a Nara, others expected her to have some unspeakable way of being familiar with the proper proceedings of everything. The Uchiha value passion much more than pride. Perhaps that is how they get so far ahead.... but, then again, that is what holds them back. Luckily, Zewo-- Yui still doesn't know/remember his real name, by the way-- Zewo didn't seem to exhibit any dominant traits other than your typical "excited Genin with potential" expectations. A thought crossed a purposefully cynical part of Yui's mind: to try to push Zewo into an emotional rage of dramatic fate-changing actions (like the stereotypical Uchiha does) in order to stir up some heated development in the team (like the stereotypical Uchiha, again, does), but she discarded this thought and placed her mind on the somewhat dull present. Whether she discarded that thought for future use or threw it away all together.... she rested unsure of.

Well, it was about time they decided to stop and ask where they should go next. During the entirety of the trip the black haired male kept quiet and he let his three students to make the calls on where they went as he wanted to test their knowledge and their sense for direction. The Uchiha boy seemed to be the one leading the group as it did not take them too long to reach a nearby town in which they could rent a boat, something that none of these kids knew how to do. Doing such a feat wasn’t actually too complicated, all you needed to do is ask around the place and find someone who is willing to rent a boat, and then get it from them. Anyone could do something like that, but going around the place to find such a person did take some time, unless one knew some people who were in the business of renting. Due to his experience with traveling Marcus was such a man, he knew a couple of people who had some good prices when it came to renting boats and thus he was able to lead his students to one of these people so that they could see and learn from who they could get a boat if they ever needed one. This might have been the first of a kind mission such as this, but it was certainly not their last one as they just started being ninja, there was a long way ahead of them and it was not going to be a easy thing reaching the end of the journey. As their teacher Marcus had to learn them some things that could be useful for them in the future and this was one of them, learning how to fetch a good price and know the right people.

“Just follow me.” With a calm expression and a gentle jet manly voice the male would speak those words, taking the lead of the group as he did. If they chose to follow him they would find themselves entering the little port town from its West entrance which was also the beginning of the port and thus there were boats and fishermen all around them. Some of them would look to see an odd man and a couple of kids, guessing that they were shinobi and then starting a conversation with others about it due to boredom. On the other hand, there were those who just continued their work and did not pay attention to the kids and the odd man. The older male would just keep on walking; ignoring their looks and their whispers, he knew where he had to go and to whom he should talk so paying attention to everyone else would be a waste of time. After passing a few blocks, the black haired male would take a turn right and he would enter a small alley at which’s end there was a small wooden house with a boat in front of it and a old man checking his fishing net. The moment the black haired male heard his steps, he would look up, noticing Marcus and giving him a smile. “Yo old man. I need your boat.” The old man would just start to laugh at Marcus’s words and he would reply: “Ah Marcus, I thought you people from Kiri didn’t go to missions during the Chuunin exams, that was time during everyone was training.” This reply he did not expect as he had completely forgotten about the exam that was going to start in a rather short period of time, around a week from now. This was certainly bad; they needed to finish this mission quickly.

“If you think we won’t make it in time, go back to the village and start training. On the other hand, feel free to come with me.” With his right hand Marcus would grab the boat and with one swing he would throw it over their heads and into the water, carefully enough so that it would not be damaged even as he threw it. The alley was rather narrow, but it had enough room for such an action. After the boat had landed the black haired male would enter it and he would get ready to row it. He would wait a single minute for his students and then he would start rowing.

The groups leader lead the way to a quaint house on the shore, and had a conversation with an elder man there about a boat. They had a short conversation about the upcoming chuunin exams, and Kenept had no idea that they were so close. He had missed them the previous year because of a mission, and he was kind of worried that he might miss them again. But he had faith in his sensei, and the mission could be a good way to train for them.

It wasn't long before the boat was in the water, and Marcus had climbed in and prepared himself to row. Kenept was second in the boat, and ready to set out. Before he knew it the small boat was moving towards the land of lightening. The adventure was about to begin.

Back-ally passages and mysterious acquaintances: Yui's sensei proved to be more interesting by the turn. So her hopes were satisfied in that the person Kirigakure suggested she model after was *not* boring. Marcus wasn't ready to be profiled yet, though. There remained much to learn of this character. This was good. A relieving excitement set in as her stranger talked to a stranger who rented the team a boat. However, when the Chuunin Exams were mentioned, the young girl became scared-- not about missing the exam, but about missing the mission. What if the team decided to forgo their assignment to pursue rank? So stabbing came this fright that it encouraged Yui to break her unofficial "oath of quietness."

"What better training than authentic adventure." she persuaded, praying the others wouldn't need much convincing. Luckily, Marcus seemed set on going with or without his tag-alongs, so Yui was certain to tag along. Hopping into the boat, she smiled to herself, hugging her knees to preserve room for the others. A sort of satisfying comfort surrounded the Genin on that boat out at sea. It was official: no turning back, now. Good riddance! The adventure had started, and no cruel dulling of events could stop excitement from entering the squad's plot, now.
