They limit the overall flow of chakra within a person's body. The basis for the idea of the chakra gates comes from the body's limits on the functions within it. This makes the body much weaker, but it keeps the body from expiring too soon. By undergoing intense training, one can learn how to open these gates allowing the user to surpass their own physical limits at the cost of extreme damage to their own body. The state of having all Eight Gates open is known as "Eight Gates Released Formation" (八門遁甲の陣, Hachimon Tonkō no Jin; English TV "Eight Inner Gates Formation"). Due to the immense amount of chakra flooding the body all at once, drastic changes can occur upon the user's body. The most common of these changes are the darkening of the skin, eruption of veins around the temples, and the eyes turning completely white, though this is not always the case. Due to the strength given by the gates, each level of Gate Opening (C, B, A, and S-ranked) allows the gate user to power through defensive techniques of a lower ranking. The recipient's voice also becomes deeper for the duration of the release.
Specifics: The Gate of Opening (開門, Kaimon), located in the brain.- Spoiler:
The Gate of Opening (開門, Kaimon), located in the brain. This gate removes the restraints of the brain on the muscles. Unlocking this gate allows the user to use the Front Lotus.
It increases the users strength and speed somewhat, for Basics and Adept it increases their Taijutsu level by one, concerning their speed and strength, so an Adept will be a Master while he has the first Gate opened. Masters will gain a boost as well, they will be able to punch a Ninjutsu Master before said gets a chance to perform a single hand seal in close ranged combat.
This Gate lasts for 3 turns and it takes a C-Ranked amount of chakra to activate it.
After it had been closed, for 2 turns your level in Taijutsu will be decreased by one. In the case of masters, this setback will last only one turn. Before using the Gates again, you will get a 3 turn cooldown, 2 for Masters.
The Gate of Healing (休門, Kyumon; English TV "The Gate of Rest"), located in the brain.- Spoiler:
The Gate of Healing (休門, Kyumon; English TV "The Gate of Rest"), located in the brain. Forcibly increases one's physical strength and temporarily re-energises the body, basically allowing the user to heal from the side-effects from the first gate and continue to fight with their gate enhanced level of strength and speed.
The first gate's cooldown is canceled and the user is granted their speed and power boost from the first gate. Adepts can use this gate for 2 turns (2 for you and your opponent) while Masters can do so for 3 posts.
The first time in each "resting period" that this gate is opened, the user unlocks stored additional chakra and is refunded a C-ranked amount of it. Yes, you get +1 C-Ranked amount of chakra.
The penalties for closing this gate are just like those of the 1st Gate.
The Gate of Life (生門, Seimon), located on the top of the spinal cord.- Spoiler:
The Gate of Life (生門, Seimon), located on the spinal cord. Allows the user to use the Reverse Lotus. The increased blood flow turns the skin red.
It requires a B-Ranked amount of chakra to activate.
Blasts of wind shoot everywhere whenever the user strikes something. These blasts were even stronger during the actual opening of the gate, knocking everything back or away in a five or less meter radius. Beyond this people with the equivalent of Taijutsu or Weaponry Basic lose track of the Gate user.
Finally, a large burst of chakra is unleashed inside your body that makes a small crater beneath you. You're protected from C-rank or lower techniques for the brief moment the gate is opened as whatever is launched rebounds back unless it's chakra flow related. The user maintains a similar speed and strength to the first gate, except that this gate is just considered faster and stronger when compared to the first gate.
This gate lasts for 2 posts turn for Adepts and 3 posts for Masters. The penalties for having had this gate opened is like those of the first and second gates, only that if this gate is closed at its limit it imparts an additional 2 turn cooldown.

The Gate of Pain (傷門, Shōmon), located on the spinal cord. This gate simply takes the effects of the other gates while adding more speed and power, upping the boost somewhat.
The user starts to have veins become visible all over their body as they bubble with the gate's power. Another C-rank defense of chakra is put up to resist all C-rank techniques inside or outside the body for a single post. Genjutsu, elemental/non-elemental blasts, weaponry, and taijutsu are the only things repelled, though, so chakra flow can bypass the barrier.
The gate lasts for 2 posts for Taijutsu Adepts and 3 posts for Masters. It requires a B-Ranked amount of chakra to activate.
Closing the gate imparts a penalty upon Adepts which decreases their Taijutsu level to the level of someone who has no skill in Taijutsu.
The Gate of Limit (杜門, Tomon; English TV "The Gate of Closing"), located in the abdomen.- Spoiler:

This gate simply takes the effects of the other gates while adding more speed and power. A person's movement begins to create a time lag at their point of entry into a normal person's vision. The last place a normal person would see them would have boulders and the ground being crushed and flying everywhere. Metal gets holes punched through it, same with defenses that are of
Bursts of air begin to shake all of the surrounding area upon every hard movement made by the gate user (all B-Ranked in power) that kick away stuff that is in a five meter radius. It becomes really hard for Adepts to follow the movements of someone with this level.
It requires an A-Ranked amount of chakra to activate. The gate lasts for 2 posts for Taijutsu Adepts and 3 posts for Masters. The penalties are the same as those of the previous Gate.
The Gate of View (景門, Keimon; English TV "The Gate of Joy"), located in the stomach.- Spoiler:
The Gate of View (景門, Keimon; English TV "The Gate of Joy"), located in the stomach and it allows the user to perform the Morning Peacock. Opening of this gate releases such enormous amounts of chakra that it can cause nearby water bodies to form a vortex around the user.
This gate will negate all B-rank jutsus used on the user for 1 turn. Genjutsu, taijutsu, elemental blasts/non-elemental blasts and som weaponry techniques are the only things repelled. They're all repelled back or dispersed but sufficiently stron chakra flow can bypass the barrier. The first time, after the latest resting period were the user has fully recovered his/her chakra, this gate refunds its rank in chakra when it is opened (+1 A-Ranked amount of chakra).
The penalties are the same as those from the gate before it.
The Gate of Wonder (驚門, Kyōmon; English TV "The Gate of Shock"), located below the stomach.- Spoiler:
The Gate of Wonder (驚門, Kyōmon; English TV "The Gate of Shock"), located below the stomach. Allows the user to perform the Daytime Tiger. Those who open this gate will pour glowing green sweat from every inch of their body, which immediately evaporates from their own heat energy, creating an aura which people would mistake as a green chakra coating.
The tremendous activation of body energy allows the user to perform any Taijutsu technique without even wasting a bit of their chakra.
For the time this gate's open B-rank techniques and below will be ineffective if they're Genjutsu, taijutsu, or elemental/non-elemental blasts. Chakra flow can bypass the power of this gate, but other types of weaponry techniques, or techniques of similar effect to what was mentioned, will have no effect. A barrier will surround the user a few feet outwards from them. If they're underwater the barrier will function as a temporary way to keep themselves breathing underwater while allowing them to talk too.
It lasts for 2 posts for Adepts, 3 posts for Masters, and has the same cool down, penalty and such as the Gate before it. Unfortunately, the additional side effects of opening the gate are that the user's muscle fibres are ripped to shreds, causing intense pain if anything or anyone touches them. The effects are more severe to Adepts than Masters but still serious regardless of who uses the gates.
The Gate of Wonder is the 7th and second to last of the Eight Gates and thus further unique. When you learn how to use (=buy) the 7th gate you automatically get the 8th gate for free, meaning that the penalty for not closing this gate before its last active post is opening the Gate of Death, meaning that you die, perhaps not at that moment but soon after.
It costs a S-Ranked amount of chakra to open.

The Gate of Death (死門, Shimon), located at the heart. Releasing this gate uses up all of the body's energy.
It makes the heart pump at maximum power and exceeds the speed and power of every other gate, activating the whole body to truly produce a barrier of chakra, protecting the user from A-rank or lower techniques from the fields of Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, Genjutsu, and so on.
This is in fact the very same protection as afforded by the opening of the 7th gate, only it now applies to A-ranks and below instead of merely B-ranks. Opening this gate gives the user an increase in strength and speed that can't be matched by anything else besides another 8th Gate, but comes at the expense of the user's death 3 posts afterwards.
Notes:- Keep in mind that if you push your limits too hard, keeping any gate open for as long as you possibly can, your body forces itself into opening the next gate in line assuming your character knows how to do so. If they do not they will be struck by much harsher penalties than they usually do for having their gate opened.
- The first 2 gates are C-Ranked, the second 2 gates (number three and four) are B-Ranked, the fifth and sixth are A-Ranked, the seventh is S-Ranked, and the final and eight gate is SS-ranked.
- Gates take chakra according to their rank per post they are open. The Taijutsu combat style does reduce the chakra taken. This means that if you open several gates in one post you only pay the chakra required to open the highest gate as well as the upkeep required to keep that level of gates open.
- Opening one ofthe Eight Gates allows the user to power through defensive techniques equal to that of a rank below that of the current gate being in an open state. For a Taijutsu Master this is increased to powering through defensive techniques on par with the rank of the currently open gate.
- Thus the penetrative power of a gate user's strikes while the gate is opened equals to that of the rank of the gate she/he currently has opened and whatever taijutsu technique happens to be used at the time, for example using a Leaf Great Whirlwind with either of the first two gates open giving the power for Taijutsu Adepts to blow through C-rank defenses and Taijutsu Masters the ability to blow through B-rank defenses (two C-ranks being equivalent to a B-rank and the previously mentioned scaling with level of Taijutsu prowess).
- If this is not already clear, you can only close a gate at the "limit point", the final post in whih the gate can be open, if you do not know any one of the Eight Gates beyond it. The exception to this is with the 7th Gate as you automatically learn the 8th and final gate when you buy the 7th one. Thus keeping the 7th gate open to its limit is a bad idea unless you planned to have your character die due to the automatic opening of the 8th gate.
- In order to be able to close a gate in the first post of its activation you will have to meet a set of criteria. Firstly, you must have a chain of actions to perform together with the opened gate. This chain of actions must then end with the closing of your gates. Your opponent replies, and then, because they are messing with your post in their replies, you must still close the gate at the appropriate point of time, in short, you must close the gates before you commit any new actions. If even one of these criteria are not fulfilled you will count as having used the relevant gate for posts and suffer the effects. There some other ways to close a gate in the gate's first active post: to immediately close it after it has been opened is one of those that I feel worth mentioning.

- Stage Two - The user is granted speed and reflexive capabilities of the Fourth Hidden Gate. They are able to react to jutsu of a lower speed with near-instantaneous affect. Granted the use of Body Flicker they can simply dodge any attack lunged at them provided it is within a five meter radius and under the Fifth Gate in terms of speed. Their armor is now at the peak of power, only a Wind Release technique of its rank can break this armor, all other elements matching the armor evenly (while Earth is utterly obliterated) The armor is more larger than before, and the user's hair stands up violently from the enhanced electrical surge. It is said that those in this stage have their chakra level comparable to a Tailed Beast, and such can even cause lasting damage to one.* After activation, the user has to pay an A-Ranked amount of chakra per each turn of usage to maintain this armor.

- Ippon Nukite || One-Finger Nukite - Known as the "strongest spear" (最強の矛, saikyō no hoko), where the concentration of chakra is so great that it extends well beyond the finger in a lone point. This has the capability to sever all of the tails of a given Tailed Beast at once, as well as the possibility of causing permanent damage to one (S-Rank)
Both techniques can be taught to others. Both techniques ignore chakra discounts as well, and once the user acquires LRA only they are able to purchase Hell Stab separately | |

***Needs a way to control 100 chakra strings like Sassori did with his body. You can be creative here but give it some common sense.

Only through the use of these masks can one utilize that element and learn techniques that it can use. Once that mask is destroyed, the user loses access to that element it held and those techniques. A mask can be brought to life to in the form of a humanoid being made up of black threads at the cost of an A-rank amount of chakra. [This humanoid may only cast elemental jutsu, and only those of their element.] When the monster is defeated, so is the heart it held.
Destroying all of a user's hearts is key to actually killing them.
**Only 1 person may be in possession of this technique. Once that person dies, the technique becomes available again for another person to obtain. **Designated elements and number of hearts, as well as bought techniques for the hearts must all be maintained in the possessor's update thread. [** Only one mask per element may be obtained for this technique-- no getting a bajillion masks]

The target must be a PC. DNA must be logically preserved if the ritual is not preformed immediately. 2nd: A living sacrifice is required to put the reincarnated soul into the vessel. This sacrifice must be a PC or significant/staff-approved NPC. 3rd: "Once all prerequisites for the technique have been met, the acquired DNA of the person is smeared on a special scroll and once the scroll is activated, the remains spread out in the form of a special seal with the living sacrifice in the centre. Then dust and ash encase the sacrifice's body, giving them the same appearance that the reincarnated had at the time of their death. The process is apparently somewhat painful as seen when Fū was used to reincarnate Torune. The person is then reincarnated and the end product is usually stored in a casket until summoned by the user."
Edo Tensei will work primarily as it did in canon.
Prerequisites/differences:
- Upon first unlocking the technique via Dev-Tokens and training the jutsu via Experience, the user may only control 1 reincarnation at a time.
- The user may pay 250 Experience to be able to control an additional reincarnation (perfecting your knowledge of Edo Tensei). This training can be repeated for a larger number of reincarnations.
The max number of reincarnations controllable will be 3. This cap can be increased to 5 if at least two reincarnations are RPed by their original player (slots must still be purchased for 250 Experience).
- Reincarnated characters still abide by their Chakra Capacity. They can run out of chakra, in which case they must recover chakra. However, Edo'd folk gain a C-Rank amount of chakra every 3 posts, making their reserves seem infinite if they are intelligent with their jutsu-usage.
- Reincarnated characters heal their bodies upon injury automatically; 1/3 of the body is regenerated per-post.
- Reincarnated characters cannot acquire any new jutsu/combat-styles that they did not have in life.
