PostSubject: Chapter 3: Day after the Red Dawn   14th August 2013, 1:10 am

"Woo..." the old man relaxed around the campfire enjoying the heat and aroma the crackling flames provided as they roasted the meat they had caught earlier that evening. The youngsters he sat with noticed the elder gentleman's relaxed state and felt a minute since of giddiness come upon them. Noticing their bright expressions the man chuckled, "Yes I believe it is time for story time hm...? I guess I can recount the story of the Red Dawn and the world they spawned after their destruction..." packing his pipe full of Red Sea tobacco, the elder man used the random sparks of flame from the fire to light the mix before taking a few slow drawls to ease his breathing. Looking up into the star filled night the man began to whistle a soft low tune as a backdrop and waited for one of the youngsters to pick up on it and continue the tune as the elder took yet another pull of his ancient pipe before exhaling, "And so it was..."

The lands after the downfall of Akatsuki were more formidable to say the least. The warriors had grown stronger, the scholars had grown smarter, and the leaders had learned to instill pride and fear in the hearts of men. The world Akatsuki had entered into was old, weak from false peace and uttered torn asunder. Various villages lay in shambles as their weak constitution prevented them from standing more than a year or two without incident. Then came Akatsuki swift as a swallow and as quiet as an oiled blade. They arrived with certainty, asserting their control over first Kiri, then Suna, and finally Kumo, and one by one the great villages toppled. And in their places, they were reborn, new shining examples lead by some member of Akatsuki or another. It seemed as if Akatsuki were merely grooming them, preparing them for the world to come. But sadly it seemed for naught.

And so from the ashes of a phoenix rose a majestic blaze. Fed and nurtured by Kumo in the north, the world recognized that a new world order had taken place, and while Kiri was the catalyst to this change, Kumo was the most reactive. The shinobi there had much to prove after the devastating invasion that left the entire country recoiling. But in the end, the member of Akatsuki who had taken the mantle of Raikage was sworn in by the hidden Prince of the land. And from this event the first chink in Akatsuki's indomitable armor was shown. It would seem logical that they set their sights on Konoha, for it was the only village escaping their grasp. But instead they turned on each other, and one by one they were picked off and killed. And while the remainder living fighters continued their tenure as Kage's, the mysterious leader simply disappeared from the forefront of focus, vowing to return with an even greater bang.

And so it sat for the first time in years, the major nations were calm. With few passing events, such as the Leaf's rebellion against their Kage, and Kirigakures continued replacement of leaders, and Sunagakures collapse, it seemed that only the infallible Kumo remained. Lead by their Leader, Mugen Heikou, and their Crown Prince and soon to be King, Taiho Seiker, it seemed as if Kumogakure and the now greater, Seiker Empire, were poised to sweep the continent and spark a new age of conflict. But for some reason they made not a motion. Were they biding their time? Or did they feel it wasn't worth the trouble. And what was this growing cloud to the west and east. The world had only began to settle after Akatsuki, but it all but seemed certain that it would once again be thrust into the throes of war. And only a dedicated group of people could keep that from happening.

Chapter 3: Part A: Return of the Bloody Mist!

Spoiler:

As events calmed down around the world, a single lone tear dropped from her eyes as she sat in the small padded room deep within the Kirigakure Mental Facility. There were no more screams, no one was in pain. What had happened to those people she had seen that had caused so much harms. Why weren't they out killing and pillaging anymore? It just made her so... sad... And she didn't like being sad. Oh no. With a terrible wail, she caught the attention of her guard who usually found her happy, if a little loopy and with a false sense of security due to the young girls change of emotion, entered her cell to check on her. He wasn't a psychiatrist, but hey he had a soft spot for the little crazy, and she reminded him of his daughter, even if she had a lot more screws loose than his own baby girl. The girl, noticing this began to grin to herself underneath the sobs, the unsuspecting guard walking right into his own death as blood splashed against the wall in four bright red parallel lines. The guard died silently, not even knowing how the girl got free of her restraints, but at least he died with an image of his little girl in his eye, so even in death, he looked... peaceful.

Relishing in the suffering she had caused, she could feel her power grow just a bit. It had been waning ever since the fall of that group and there just wasn't enough conflict to sate her true hunger however. So with this in mind, she dipped her fingers into the blood of the man, forcing her power through his veins in order to forcibly change his form while stripping him and herself. In seconds there was a replica of herself in the cell with matching slash marks. Removing the clothes and replacing them with her own, she in turn put on the mans clothes while ingesting his blood, moaning with glee as her body took on his shape. "Thank you mister![/color]" she said cheerfully in the mans rather deep voice as she stepped out the cell. Closing the door behind her, she smiled as the mans replacement came around the corner, and utilized that time to hustle out of the facility, a plan already hatching in her young sadistic mind to create some suffering. To create... some fun...

Heading back to Kiri in the mans body, the first thing she did was murder the two gate guards, rising their bodies back into the world of the living using her manipulation of their blood she tasked them with keeping watch over the village as she caused some havoc and allowed her to cut loose while giving her an exit route in which she used to proceed on a bloody mass murdering spree before exiting the village without so much as a scream to alert anyone that she was there. But come morning, the wails of anguish would pierce the skies as friends and family members discovered their dismembered loved ones strewn all about the rooms of their homes. The village instantly thrown on high alert, the girl sat giddily within the fog filled forests surrounding the village, listening with glee as the people scrambled to find out who did it.

By now the guard who had replaced her had realized that she hadn't come back and had checked the man whose body she was using home only to realize he hadn't come home. Rushing back with a group of ninja to discover that she was dead, but running a check on the blood only to realize that she had escaped. At that point, the emergency horn was going off full kilter. Receiving a notice from the guards she had placed that the village had sent out a courier ninja to the nearest villages to alert them of her escape she figured she could use this to gain a some more fun out of it. After all, what good was it playing with the same play mates over and over, now she could have some... fun... Intercepting the ninja, proceeded to beat him down before torturing him, using his rather bland blood to distort and disfigure his body until she finally decided to kill him if only to rid himself of his own existence. Changing his form to match her's while taking on his own, the girl took the message he was carrying before swapping it out with a new one, this one a challenge mission sent out to every village. A playful game of hide and seek, cat and mouse. Of course, she never said who the cat, and who the mice were. Maybe they'd end up stalking each other and she'd be able to pick them of one by one. And why stop at hide and seek, there were so many games she could play with them that'd make this... fun. Oh the possibilities. As she laid back on the ground, she began to cackle in the young boys voice, today was going to be a good day there was much suffering to cause, and she was going to cause a lot of it before they threw her back into that cell.

Osho's Notes:

Alright, so this is the first event of chapter 3 'Day after the Red Dawn' and follows an unknown antagonist from mist who just wants to play a little. There will be several plot missions that run with this event. Some will be repeatable, meaning that there won't be an SS-rank plot mission reward for it, but those that are one time should be well worth the risk as well. I'll Update this post later on once people have accepted and arrived at the mission location with further information on the girl, if anyone of you active people that are looking to do some harm want to help out. Message me privately for more info and I'll hook you up with some tidbits, yes you may participate and perform in the event, i'll just have you doing a different group. Hope you guys enjoy this.

P.S.: This is an IC Event, and does affect everything you do IC which makes the rewards reflect the risk, so please don't die.

Chapter 3: Part B-1: Tower of the Ancients - Discovery

Spoiler:

In the heavy desert sands of Sunagakure there once was a tribe. Back before the Kaze no Kuni or in the western dialect, Land of Wind, was a complete wasteland, it was a lush Mecca. Rich with culture, arts and musics were discovered and created. Sciences were born, and philosophers made out of the simplest men. But all of that paled in the might of their while small, incredibly fierce armies. It allowed them to conquer and destroy any other tribe that existed, those that strove to drive out their growing fire, or herd in their unmatched growth. And so the tribe grew, uninhibited any further they soon challenged even the gods with their knowledge and power, their vast empire spanning the world that they had conquered over time.

And it seemed for a moment, as if the people would go on to rule for an eternity. But something happened, something systematically wiped them out and removed all traces of their existence except for one man. The Sage of Six Paths. The last surviving member of an ascended race. He held the key to unlocking this knowledge, and with his passing, so went the key, and for the first time in many millennia the world was rebooted. During the great purge, many landmarks across the face of the planet had changed. The once fertile land became a sprawling desert, continents that used to be connected were split and throw this way and that, and whole new species of humans were raised from the ashes. And like their ancestors, they were intelligent, and capable of great deals of violence.

And now it seems as if it were time for the children to meet and learn from their ancestors, the Ancients, the People of the Sage, the Ascended Ones. And where to start, but in a burrow in the middle of the desert. And so begins our Tale...

Osho's Notes:

So here is the first part, the appetizer before the meal of the ToA event that's been teased for most of the month. This portion is meant to be short, really shouldn't take longer than a week to get done but i'm expecting longer since the Bloody Mist Event is running at the same time. If you haven't heard already, the timeskip happens once this part of the event is done so yeah take your time with this until the Bloody Mist Event is done if you choose to go ahead and tackle this right away.

Plot Announcement and Information

The time has come for the ninja world to tremble at the might of the most powerful forces in the land. Massive beasts of pure chakra, with intentions to destroy, kill, maim and be the greatest threat to the ninja world as of yet. In a time before the time, foolish individuals though to seal the bijuu, to lock them away. But there prison has broken, and so too have the shackles of there mind. They remember what sealing does, they remember the horror of it all, and they know how to counteract it. No longer are they to be tamed by mere ninja moves, no longer able to be the play thing of Mangekyou Sharingan, or of Senju's wooden prisons. They are coming back with a vengeance.

The Bijuu are attacking, or have attacked, or will attack. Much is unknown, what is certain is that you will die. There is an inevitable sense of doom and dread when they appear. Stand against them and face the possibility that you will be killed. Run and you may be killed, flee and you might survive to live another day. Stand together and there might be hope, but the shackles that have held these beasts are loose, and no high up administrative powers can protect the innocent genin or chuunin. They will face the slaughter as us all do. Do not think you are invincible, do not hide behind other's, either stand tall, or run, run away.

What does this mean for me, my character and the ninja world to date?

The possibility to stand against a bijuu together is improbable, to stand alone against them is suicide. They have massive chakra, more than any ninja around, more than what has ever been seen on the forum. Don't think that because you hit them with a single S rank move it is over, don't think that one fuuinjutsu will stop them, even if you have a master or two around. Think about it, really, they have more chakra than you, and a group of ninja combined, that fuuinjutsu will have to over power a bijuu, not just hit it but over power it. Like throwing a pokeball at a legendary with full health, you'll never catch it boyo.

So, will I die?

If you don't run, possibly, if you "hide" in the village, definitely, if you fight it, most likely. But don't fret, the object of the bijuu is to test your resolve, your skills, and at the end of the day, clean house. So, wondering about all that work you put in to be lost in a moment. That's life, especially a ninja's life. But we aren't so cruel to let you die empty handed. There is something else in the universe almost as powerful as a bijuu, a admin decision. (ALMOST, not entirely)

Some information

Lets start positive, lets say you are so awesome you and your village stop the bijuu, not capture it, not defeat it, but stop its rampage. You will be rewarded 2 S rank, and 2 A rank missions, and everyone who participated and lived will get a chance to rank up automatically.

But lets be realistic, and say most of you die. Here is what the power of the admin's has decreed.

Death, in battle

  • You earn half the reward for a S rank Plot mission, wow huh. But your dead right? It goes towards your next character. Money, experience included
  • You start with all the experience you currently have added to your next character. So if you die with 500 your next character starts with 500.
  • If you start as a genin, you get double the starting experience, along with the previous listed item.

This is the most important change
  • If you start as a genin, you can pick any minor nation to join. Yes there aren't any major nations to join. Pick a minor nation, you start out there, in a small remote corner with your parents, or alone wandering. Just no previous affiliations with any major village. None, no "I left Konoha" no "I was born in Kirigakure". When you do this, you get an extra 50,000 ryu and 150 experience.

The minor nations are broke, in ruins, especially considering the major villages that own them are being decimated by a bijuu, the money and support have run out. Bandits roam the land, and those few ninja MUST band together to survive, and possible thrive.

This is a chance to start fresh, revive the minor nations, and become a powerful force to the world. Don't blow it by joining a major nation only to get eaten by the bijuu. We want to see you, the members, the players start from the bottom and build a nation, to create your own major village, and become a powerful force. Hopefully with this new attitude, you someday can withstand the onslaught of the bijuu. But until then, gather your friends, your comrades, take over another land for yourself, establish a true government and hidden ninja village. Face the world together.
